There are some new photos of our house tiger "Tarzan". His coat is now of the length it should be and he feels comfortable as if he always has been at home here.

It's four years today, that Yazoo's last litter was born ..... that 8 gorgeous Briards saw the light of day on a very special day of the year:
Happy Birthday to Frizzante Furioso Gris "Frizzy", Ferre Fuego Noir "Ferre", Flic Fendi Noir "Fendi", Figaro Miro Noir "Miro", Fetiche Falco Nero "Falco", Fleury d'Aude Noire "Fleury", Foudre Ferrari Noir "Ferri" and Femme Fatale Grise "Saskia". I am sure, that they all will be spoilt very much today since two events take place on the same day.

All the very best to these great dogs and of course to their owners ..... and Merry Christmas!

December 23, 2004:

The tiny, exceptional visitor has moved today and is, since this afternoon, in its new winter accomodation. At noon it was picked up by the rescue service of the Viennese animal shelter, to be brought where it shall spend the next months. It's a female and she is lively, although she is a bit dried up, but she should survive. Fingers are tightly crossed!

Thanks so much to Mrs. Baar from Vienna, who immediately volunteered to care for the bat. Mrs. Baar offers an adequate place for overwintering since 30 years for any kind of bats who need help, and lets them go when time has come. GREAT that there are people like Mrs. Baar!

Everything is clear now concerning the exceptional guest: It is a rare breed, which actually should not be in this region. The conditions which this guest chose - out of which cause ever - are conceivably bad. Fortunately, after some hours of searching in the net and after some phone calls, I found competent people who will take this droll animal and offer it the natural environment for overwintering, and I do hope the animal will come through. Till the moving the tiny flighty character is hanging in a box with a small water bowl and the right outside temperature.

What a great day to be born - on the World Animal Day. And just on this day the B-"litter" saw the light of day. Congratulation to Batida de Coco, who is turning to be 7 years of age today.
Batida, I am sure that you are going to be spoilt very much today and that you are getting special treats. Remain healthy and bring joy to Sylvia, Rudi and all the family for many more years. Happy Birthday, dear Batida. In my thoughts I am with you and I hug you affectionately!

Today is a day to be remembered! Exactly 14 years ago an important landmark of my life was set: Champ. SÁNDOR von Anitzberg was born and therewith my FIRST Briard saw the light of day. With this Briard boy I became "addicted" to this wonderful breed. Sándor has brought the Briard Mania to this home and with that showed me a most wonderful way (even though it is a stony way from time to time - it is worth it to go!).

I thank Sándor from the deepness of my heart for this sign, but of course also for the wonderful years during which I was allowed to join him, and I send him tender birthday wishes to the Rainbow Bridge to where he was called much too early.

Today in the evening a candle for Sándor will be in the window and send its light from here over to the Rainbow Bridge - for him especially, but also for all his family members and friends who join him on the Rainbow Bridge:

• for friend Marko, who was a perfect "teacher" to him,
• for his sibling, especially for brother "Sandro" and sister "Signorita Choco",
• for Arwa (Zevar), who was founder of this kennel together with him,
• for Camil, who was snatched out of life with brute force,
• for Sándor's and Arwa's daughter Arwa (Betkin dvor), who took the lane to her parents a year ago
• and for the kids of the A-litter, of which some are joining their parents on the Rainbow Bridge.

Sándor, you and the others are missing .................... I hug you and the "family"!

Today there is another birthday to celebrate: Zabou (Aloa Zabou du Noble Nid) is three years old. A very Happy Birthday, dear Zabou! Remain the one you are: a healthy, funny, vivacious and charming bundle of energy!
And of course best wishes go out to all the sibbling of Zabou: Aaron, Amadeus, Anthon in Denmark, Aramis in Germany, Ashanti in Luxembourg, Asthor on the Canary Islands, Alaska in Spain und Astalvista in France. Lots of greetings also to the gorgeous mother Revue in Belgium!

Today an extraordinary member of the "Austrian-French-Connection" celebrates birthday: the endearing, always funny "Kamikaze Lady" YAZOO is nine years old. ALL THE VERY BEST WISHES FOR YOUR BIRTHDAY, my beloved Yazoo. I wish you healthiness and fun for many more uncountable years, and I thank you from the deepness of my heart that I could during the past great years and furthermore can join you. You always have been and are something very SPECIAL in my life!

On July 17, 2004, Gizmo gave birth to 4 healhy and bouncing puppies (3/1) after "Little Flummy Kasiterit". Big congratulation to Ing. Wieninger for this litter !!!

Today Austria's National Specialty took place and once again there was some nice success for some of the dogs here:

• Frizzante Furioso Gris "Frizzy" de la Maison du Garde-Barrière - open class: Exc.4
• Aloazabou "Zabou" du Noble Nid - open class: Exc. 3 (with distance the youngest girl of this class)
• Sél. Oh-Lala des Monts d'en Crauzille - open class: Exc. 4

The show was a great event and the atmosphere perfect - with some great friends and lots of fun. Thanks to the judge Corinne de Brouwer (F) for her fair judging!

Photos of the show will be available in a couple of days, and then - of course - the corresponding update information. :-)

Today the E-litter celebrates its 5th birthday. Big congratulation to Einstein Noir "Bärli" (Austria), Ecstasy Noir "Romeo" (USA), Ecoute-moi chez Bailywick "Cou" (USA), Escada Noire "Raven" (USA), Elysée Noire "Echo" (Canada), Esprit Noir (Austria), El Ninjo Noir "Shadow" (USA) and of course also to the one who remained in this house, "Whoopy" (Excuse-moi Whoopy)! May all of you have many nice and especially healthy years ahead of you. The best wishes from Mom Yazoo, Dad Samson, from Whoopy to her sibling, Frizzy to his half-sibling, from Aunt Oh-Lala and Zabou as well as from Gizmo, who was walking around in your whelping box already in the first days of your lives. I myself, your "breeding mother", hug each of you tightly in my thoughts!

Today I have received photos from a very special girl: Alysha de la Maison du Garde-Barrière, the only tawny girl out of my first litter (born January 31, 1994). Parents of this beautiful girl are Rec. Ch. Sándor von Anitzberg and Arwa Zevar SchH 1, who both have, unfortunately, already gone to the Rainbow Bridge. The more these photos mean to me. When I look at "Lishi" I see her father in front of me, just his mirror image - only another color ..........

Thanks Irene! You have made me really happy with these photos.

Surprising news: Yesterday I went through one of our daily newspapers and found an article reporting about the horror trip of Yazoo in August 2000. Some weeks ago I was asked about that event, because they had found this story in my homepage, and at the occasion of the beginning travelling season the topic "Flying with animals" was planned to be taken up. At that time nobody could tell me when this article would be published. On May 1, time had come ..........

With a click on the thumbnail you can get to that report. When you move the mouse on the picture appearing in the new page there comes up a circle with arrows - click there and the picture resizes to big format and is readable. Yazoo's story is in the very right columns (only available in German language).

And now the first photos of the puppies of "Champ. Ecoute-moi chez Bailywick COU de la Maison du Garde-Barrière, CGC", the grandchildren of the proud five times grandparents "Samson" and "Yazoo" are available. Many thanks to Lana that she has sent these pictures immediately!!!

Once again this kennel can announce the birth grandchildren: "Champ. Ecoute-moi chez Bailywick "Cou" de la Maison du Garde-Barrière, CGC" whelped eight puppies on 04/27/2004: 3 dogs (2 black, 1 grey) and 5 girls (4 black, 1 grey). Sire of these puppies is "Champ. Bailywick Mozart Carcer-Sagi" (Wolfi).

The best wishes for "Cou" and her kids from Mom "Yazoo", Dad "Samson", sister "Whoopy", half-brother "Frizzy", Aunt "Oh-Lala", "Zabou", "Gizmo" and der "breeding mom". We are looking forward full of Excitement to the first photos of the 8 grandchildren. Congratulation of course also to Lana and her kennel "Bailywick Briards".

April 11, 2004:

In the homepage of an Austrian Briard breeder (NOT Member of the Briard Club of Austria) one can read, that her bitch "is at the moment the only bred bitch which fulfills the new breeding criterions of the OeKV (Austrian Kennel Club)". This could make one think that she hast the only bitch fulfilling these new criterions, but this is ABSOLUTELY NOT the truth!

The majority of the breeders of BVOe (Briard Club Austria) do have dogs with full breeding conformation, not only having the working grade claimed by the Austrian Kennel Club, but much higer grades. Some of the breeding dogs are even selected in several countries, which means that these dogs have gone through a severe standard and character control and, therefore, have been - as the word selection says - certified with a quality rating for chosen breeding dogs. Furthermore, the breeders of BVOe can possess excellent breeding results.

The new breeding criterions of the Austrian Kennel Club are valid only since 01/01/2004 and therewith only for dogs which have not been used for breeding before that date.

Today the G-litter celebrates its second birthday. The very best wishes to Gus Gillespie "Lt. Gustl", Gucci's Surprise "Lara", G'Aysha Blonde "Aysha", Gros Bisou, Graffiti Snap and Gaultier's Galaxie "Lexi". See to be spoilt today!!!

Nearly unbelievable that it is already two years ago that Oh-Lala has given this kennel the present of some more great Briards. A very, very happy birthday!

April 4, 2004:

Today there was international all breed show in Wieselburg/A. Yazoo (Sél. Loulou dite YAZOO des Cèdres de la Montagne Noire, CGC) was shown in veteran class for the first time. Here is judge's statement (Doris Getzinger/A):
9 year old bitch being in very good condition, korrect head line, correct set and darkness of eyes, good upper and lower line, good depth and width of chest, correct angulation, excellent coat texture, according to age very good movement, good character. We would wish to see this bitch at many future shows.

Result: Exc. 1 - Veteran Winner

March 14, 2004:

Once again a gorgeous success for this kennel: At the international show in Nitra/SR today Ch. Dior Dodo de la Maison du Garde-Barrière went Exc. 1 CAC CACIB BOB and BEST DOG OF THE DAY.

March 3, 2004:

All the best to Chaos, Clochard, Celine, Chloé and Champagne - they celebrate their 6th birthday today. Loving memories also go the Rainbow Bridge to Chivas Regal, who made his trip up there with not even having been 6 months of age. A candle is burning for him today in a window here. They were the first puppies from wonderful Yazoo - their sire is Samson, who celebrated his 8th birthday only 4 days ago.

March 3, 2004:

Unfortunately there are also sad news: "Zabou" is empty; either this "something", which had shortly been seen on the ultrasounds, was nothing, or the girl has resorbed. Now it is meant to be that we are waiting for her next season.

Samson (Ugo de la Morne Plaine) is celebrating his 8th birthday today. All the best, you gorgeous guy. And lots of thanks for the great kids with which you have not only delighted myself but many Briarders in the world. As many years again with you, and even more, that's what's my wish with you!

The A-litter is celebrating its 10th birthday today. It's sad that some of them are not longer alive, but these are the ones who are in my thoughts today in particular (Atos und Aron), and of course their parents who have found their everlasting place deep in my heart. The other ones of that gorgeous furry gang out of "Ch. SÁNDOR von Anitzberg" and "ARWA Zevar, SchH 1" - namely Aramis, Apollo, Aristide, Akira and Alysha - I wish the very best and I hope that they will remain healthy for a very, very long time and that they enjoy thei lives as well as make their owners happy. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Today Oh-Lala celebrates her 6th birthday. Big congratulation, dear Oh-Lala! And remain as you are: the funny, smart, very lively, characterful girl which I hold in high regard. I wish to have an invinite number of years with you!

Now Frizzy's (Frizzante Furioso Gris de la Maison du Garde-Barrière) homepage has been completed: He, too, has now his own guestbook and is pleased - together with his family - about hopefully many entries.

January 6, 2004:

We are back home ....... with a bred girl: Zabou (AYCh. AloaZabou du Noble Nid) has been bred to Armagedon (Armagedon de l'avenue D'Artagnon). If things turn to be as desired, this kennel will have fawn puppies beginning of March 2004.
