I expressly point to the fact that these mails didn't/don't come from
my domains even having the sender's address, and I dissociate myself
from their content. I, too, smart from the mass of mails which mainly
have their origin in Swiss and German connections.

As
this kennel has been rated with the seal of quality "Exemplary
Kennel" by the Austrian Kennel Club and the FCI in June 2002 there
is a yearly kennel control. The controlling body is a breeder or judge
(or both in one person). Today this kennel control took place. Several
criterions are judged and these criterions are structured into 3 to
6 sub criterions. The ratings are "very good", "sufficient"
and "not satisfactory" for the criterions:
Expertise, love and affection, looking after, consultation, contract
for sale, accommodation, outlet and space, cleanliness, behavior of
the dogs, physical condition, grooming condition, feeding, veterinary
looking after (vaccination, worming). In addition the controlling body
can make own remarks and impressions to each of the criterion.
This kennel was judged "very good" for all the criterions and sub criterions and there were made additional annotations:
- Accomodation/outlet: According to the breed well adjusted and spacious in a good total layout
- Cleaniness: all parts top clean.
- Behavior of the dogs: All dogs show a safe and friendly character
- Healthiness/grooming: All dogs are in best condition and outstanding grooming condition.
The kennel "de la Maison du Garde-Barrière" is allowed to quote itself as an "Exemplary Kennel" of OeKV and FCI, and the pedigrees of the offspring have a note of this seal of quality.

Today the B-"litter", our single child Batida de Coco, celebrates her 6th birthday. Happy Birthday, dear Batida. We all wish you all the very best and especially healthiness. Today for sure you will be extremely spoilt.

Finally the first photos of the Samson kids are available. The puppies are all thrieving. Photos can be seen in the Puppy slide show and in the homepage of the kennel du Val de la Rose.
September 5, 2003:
Things don't run like they should around the litter from Samson: The puppies have to be fed very much additionally. The breeder is in action all day long. In the evening of September 4, 2003, a boy died. Now it is 5 boys and 3 girls. Fingers are tightly crossed that things run fine.
September 3 , 2003:
Samson turned to be "Daddy" again: The black girl (French origin) Noire Gentille Vodka de la Maison de Suzie whelped 10 puppies - 6/3 black, 0/1 stillborn. Congratulation and our fingers are tightly crossed that these puppies will be as gorgeous as all the other "Samson" kids!
Therewith, Samson has produced 45 puppies with five breedings (22 boys and 23 girls). More details can be found in his owns site.

Yazoo, Gizmo and I made vacation. We have visited Fleury d'Aude in Germany and Foudre Ferrari "Ferri" in Switzerland (both out of Ch. Sél. NESCAFE des Pierrailles x Sél. AYCh. Loulou dite YAZOO des Cèdres de la Montagne Noire, CGC) and of course took lots of photos. Via the dog names you get to the respective slide shows.

Congratulations to the sextet (1/5) Gus Gillespie Lt. Gustl, Gucci's Surprise Lara, G'Aysha Blonde Aysha, Gros Bisou Bisou, Graffiti Snap Graffiti and Gaultier's Galaxie Lexi. To their owners I say "thank you" for their trust in this kennel, but mainly for all the love they bring to "my" offspring and for the great homes they offer all of them. Lots of thanks for the frequent contact and all the photos, which made me take part in the growing up of the G's.

April 4, 2003:
A Briard owner from Russia asked me some months ago if she could have some photos of my dogs, since she writes a Briard booklet and would like to publish such photos. I agreed on condition that under each photo the name of the dog should be added. Nothing spoke against that, and so I sent pics from all the dogs from here to Elena. Some weeks ago Elena told me that the booklet was finished and that somehow she would see that I receive some. On March 28, I found an e-mail of Elena telling me that her parents would visit Vienna and that they would have books for me. She asked me for my address and phone numbers. Elena's parents contacted me after their arrival in Vienna and we arranged a date for today. I could not wait to see them, since this should be the first time to meet Briard people from Russia personally (via e-mail I am in contact with some, and even for a long time with owners of a son of my Samson out of the Finish breeding).
I was so pleased when finally I stood face to face with Elena's parents and I believe that was mutual. We spent some nice hours in a coffee shop while Elena's parents told me some things about the content of this Briard booklet. (Unfortunately Elena's parents had not enough time to visit me here.) I also got some explanations about the Briards published in the booklet, and with each of my own dogs there was a cheerful "shriek" of myself. :-) Time ran way too fast, we would have had to tell each other much more. And unfortunately I could not meet Elena personally, but maybe one day she can come to Vienna - or maybe I travel to Moscow?
All in all 9 photos of my dogs decorate the booklet, which unfortunately I cannot read - except the under titles of the photos and the expression of thanks to all those who helped with the development of this book. No matter, this book has a very special place in my shelf in between all the Briard and dog reading, one won't come to such a book so soon.
Thanks Elena! Thanks that you published photos of the dogs from here - from this little hobby kennel. I am really very happy! I will take your book from time to time to admire your own Briard "Bonanza", of whom photos out of his various stages of life decorate the book.
