As a Chinese saying goes:
One only has to sit long enough on the shore and sometime
the enemy swims along with the back above.

And I say: the same way it will be!

NEWS 2009

June 8, 2009:

Yesterday after our arrival from the shows in Slovenia we had to read sad news again: Ferre (FERRE FUEGO NOIR de la Maison du Garde-Barrière), the brother of our Frizzy, has passed on June 1, 2009. Once again we can't believe that another offspring had to go over the Rainbow Bridge much too early, to join his parents, siblings and friends. We know how Ferre's owners feel now and we can only say that our thoughts are with them and that we are as sad as they are. Although this Briard life was way too short, we know that Ferre was loved and had a wonderful life with his human family.

Briard Angel

Thanks to his owners that it was him they chose at the age of about five months.

During the past weekend we have shown two of our Chinese Crested girls in Portoroz/Slovenia. See more in our homepage Chinese Crested @ Caipirinha's.

May 18, 2009:

Although we mourn for our own girl Whoopy, we have of course not forgotten that the E litter celebrates its 10th birthday today. A Very Happy Birthday to Cou (Ch. Ecoute-moi chez Bailywick de la Maison du Garde-Barrière, CGC), Shadow (El Ninjo Noir de la Maison du Garde-Barrière), Echo (Elysée Noire de la Maison du Garde-Barrière) and Esprit (Esprit Noir de la Maison du Garde-Barrière). May this be a wonderful day for each of you, but mainly we send our best wishes over for health for some more years.

For the ones who have already followed their parents Samson (Ugo de la Morne Plaine) and Yazoo (Sél. Loulou des Cèdres de la Montagne Noire, CGC) over the Rainbow Bridge, a candle has been lit: Romeo (Ch. Ecstasy Noir de la Maison du Garde-Barrière - Nov. 24, 2006), Einstein (Einstein Noir de la Maison du Garde-Barrière - Sep. 6, 2006), Raven (Escada Noire de la Maison du Garde-Barrière - May 12, 2009) and Whoopy (Excuse-moi Whoopy de la Maison du Garde-Barrière - May 16, 2009). You all are unforgotten and you all will never be forgotten. Thanks so much for the time you spent with us (although it was of course way too short), thanks for the wonderful memories which we carry in our hearts.

May 16, 2009:

Only four days after her sister Raven (ESCADA NOIRE de la Maison du Garde-Barrière), only two days before her tenth birthday, we had to open our arms today at 4:45 pm to let our darling Whoopy (EXCUSE-MOI WHOOPY de la Maison du Garde-Barrière) go over the Rainbow Bridge in our arms. We still cannot believe it .......... she had so much will to live after her major surgery on April 27, so much fighting spirit, and now ......... All the effort of our vets, the blood transfusions of Courage and Frizzy have unfortunately only helped for a short time, you have been called away much too early ..........

Whoopy will be cremated on May 20, 2009, 10 am, and then she will be forever with us on her favorite place in this house ..........

Briard-Engel

Whoopy, you are missed and you will be unforgotten here, just like all the other ones from here which have already gone over the Rainbow Bridge before you, and which have expected you there today - your parents, siblings and friends. You will always have a place in our hearts, and the beautiful memories of you will hopefully give us the strength that one day we will fairly get over the pain about your so sudden, unexpected loss.

We thank our friends for their words and sympathy.

May 13, 2009:

We have hardly come over the worry about our Whoopy, Raven (ESCADA NOIRE de la Maison du Garde-Barrière) had to take her last trip to walk over the Rainbow Bridge. We can't believe that another gorgeous Samson and Yazoo child had to leave the loving home - much too early .......... With tears in our eyes and sadness in our hearts we can only tell Deb and Charlie, that we do know such kind of loss, that we feel like they do, and that our thoughts are with them. Raven will forever be unforgotten by us, she will continue to live in our memories and in our hearts. We wish and hope that Raven's brother Shadow will make this hard time a bit more bearable and that he will join Deb and Charlie many more years.

Briard Angel

Our sympathies go out to Deb and Charlie, and we can only let them know once again that we are grateful that they gave Raven and Shadow a most desirable home and made their lives be most wonderful each and every day. May the thoughts, that this gorgeous girl is now together with her parents, siblings and friends, be kind of comfort. A candle will be burning tonight in the birthplace of Raven ...... for her and for all the other ones, which our friends and ourselves are dearly missing. May this light of the candle tell the ones on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge that they are unforgotten ..........

If someone wants to leave some word of sympathy or comfort, please do so in the Guestbood, so that Deb and Charlie can read it. Thank you.

May 11, 2009:

The past  weeks have been hectic and partly nerve-recking: Briard girl Whoopy had an emergency surgery in the night of April 27, and only survived because of the great commitment of our vets Jana and Palo and because of the blood transfusions of  two of our other Briards, Courage and Frizzy.

Therefore, all the news from the past weeks now - beginning with the most actual news:

Last weekend two of our Chinese Crested were out for the shows in Umag/Croatia and our two girls were successful. Everything about that as well as new photos of our toy breed in our Chinese Crested Homepage.

Whoopyhas recovered fine and we hope that her next check is so good, that she can go off the pills which she still has to take.

April 26, 2009:

Since April 23, 2009, we have a new family member: another Chinese Crested girl - Zoey. Everything about this new kennel enrichment in our Chinese Crested Homepage.

April 8, 2009:

Today they are seven years old: the G litter of our kennel out of our dear Oh-Lala (Sél. OH-LALA des Monts d'en Crauzille) and Jolly Jumper Gris des Monts d'en Crauzille. A very Happy Birthday to Gustl (Gus Gillespie), Lara (Gucci's Surprise), Aysha (G'Aysha Blonde), Bisou (Gros Bisou), Graffiti Snap and Lexi (Gaultier's Galaxie). Enjoy this day and see to be spoiled, and to Gustl we send our best wishes for a fast recovery after his surgery and that everything is ok now.

Yesterday we received a Swiss animal journal with some articles about holidays with animals. One of the articels is about the horror trip of Yazoo. After nearly nine years her bad experience is still worth to be printed (only availalble in German).

Middle and end of March we have received photos of Kita (KeyToMyHeart de la Maison du Garde-Barrière) and of Fleury (Fleury d'Aude de la Maison du Garde-Barrière). You can find the pictures in the slideshow of Kita and in the slideshow of Fleury. Thanks to Ray and Christine.

March 15, 2009:

Our L litter (Chinese Crested) was 9 weeks old yesterday. We have taken photos which are now in the corresponding slide show. We also had the litter control yesterday, and they are all absolutely according to standard with correct bites and all incisors.

The ones who are interested in the litter can find everything in our Chinese Crested Homepage.

March 15, 2009:

Today it is four years that our darling Samson (UGO de la Morne Plaine) had to go over the Rainbow Bridge. We lit a candle for him so that he can see that we have not at all forgotten him.

March 13, 2009:

A very sad day ...... for a dear friend of us ...... and for us breeders ...... Today in the afternoon Alysha, the tawny girl of our first litter, had to go over the Rainbow Bridge at the age of 15 years and one and a half months. Although we know that she really reached a remarkable age and that she could enjoy her life much longer than many others could, the pain is deep. Our thoughts are with Irene and her family, and we have lit a candle for Alysha.

We thank Irene for nearly 15 years of endless love for a dog of our kennel, and we thank her for having been here for the girl always and at any time until the last second. May Chili and Asterix are a help, so that she can get over this painful loss in a way that one day the wonderful memories of many years filled with joy are predominant.

March 1, 2009:

Today our C litter celebrates its 11th birthday. A very Happy Birthday and big congratulations to Celine and Champagne. For the ones being on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge already (Chivas Regal, Clochard, Chloé and our very special boy Chaos), we have lit a candle. They are in our thoughts, and our thoughts are also with their owners, of which some still very much and dearly miss their darlings.

February 28, 2009:

Today was Samson's birthday. We miss this gorgeous boy still very much. To let him know that our thoughts were with him, we lit a candle sending its light to the other side of the Rainbow Bridge.

February 27, 2009:

From Family Herdt we have received new photos of Grisu, which are now in his slide show. Lots of Thanks! And there are also new pictures of Kita (until now known as Heart). She is now living in Texas and her new owner has sent us photos. Her slide show has been updated as well. Thanks Ray! Kita is now introduced to herding, and there are some picutures available online - here!

February 1, 2009:

New photos of Chili (KANDIS de la Maison du Garde-Barrière) have been added to his slide show.

January 12, 2009:

Today it is 15 years ago that the first litter of our kennel was born: the A litter. A very Happy Birthday to Alysha!!! Unfortunately we lost contact to the owners of Aramis and Aristide and don't now if these two could also celebrate with their owners. If so, we send of course our best wishes to these two boys. For the ones who are already on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge and for their parents Sándor (Rec. Champ. SÁNDOR von Anitzberg) and Arwa (ARWA Zevar) a candle was buring here all day long to let them know that our thoughts were with them.

A special surprise was the birthday pictures we received from Irene, Alysha's owner.

Alysha 15. Geburtstag 31. Jan. 2009

Thank you very much Irene, this means so much to us and we are grateful that you are the owner of this girl, that you gave Alysha the chance to spend a wonderful, healthy and long life with your and your family.

January 23, 2009:

It's again time for a birthday celebration: Today Oh-Lala (Sél. OH-LALA des Monts d'en Crauzille) celebrates her eleventh birthday. A very Happy Birthday to our grey girl.

May this outstanding girl remain healthy and be with us for many more years.
