NEWS 2010

July 19, 2010:

Frizzy (FRIZZANTE FURIOSO GRIS de la Maison du Garde-Barrière) was in the vet. clinic today for removing the stitches. Healing process was great, the vet is absolutely satisfied. As soon as the antibiotic treatment is done, we will start with the tarantula poison injections and hope that there will be put a stop to the reproduction of tumors.

Today it is a year ago that our beloved Zabou (ALOAZABOU du Noble Nid), the mother of our K litter, went to the other side of the Rainbow Bridge. The pain about the loss of this great girl is still the same as it was on that July 19, 2009. We have lit a candle and send our thoughts to Zabou and all the other ones from here, who wait of us on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge.

July 15, 2010:

Today in the morning there was the veterinary check for Frizzy (FRIZZANTE FURIOSO GRIS de la Maison du Garde-Barrière) after his tumor sugery. The vet is pleased. If nothing unexpected happens we only have to be back to the clinic in a week for removing the stitches. And then we will start - like with Oh-Lala last year - with the tarantula poison injection treatment.

July 13, 2010:

Frizzy (FRIZZANTE FURIOSO GRIS de la Maison du Garde-Barrière) is back home since the evening. According to the circumstances he is doing fine. In two days he has to have a veterinary check.

July 12, 2010:

Our Frizzy (FRIZZANTE FURIOSO GRIS de la Maison du Garde-Barrière) will have to go through a surgery tonight ...... a tumor will be removed. At the moment our only wish is to be able to join our boy for some more years

Although being worried, we have of course not forgotten about the 4th birthday of our K litter. A very heartfelt Happy Birthday to Chica (K'QUIERES de la Maison du Garde-Barrière), Grisu (KALAHARI de la Maison du Garde-Barrière), Kita (KEY-TO-MY-HEART de la Maison du Garde-Barrière), Kiara (KAIPIRINHA de la Maison du Garde-Barrière), Chili (KANDIS de la Maison du Garde-Barrière) und natürlich an unsere Courage (KAHLUA de la Maison du Garde-Barrière).

May 18, 2010:

It is 11 years ago that our E litter was born. A heartfelt HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Cou (Ch. Ecoute-moi chez Bailywick de la Maison du Garde-Barrière, CGC), Echo (Elysée Noire de la Maison du Garde-Barrière) and Esprit (Esprit Noir de la Maison du Garde-Barrière). We send you hugs and kisses and wish you many more years with your families!

And of course we have not forgotten those who have already followed their parents Samson (UGO de la Morne Plaine) and Yazoo (Sél. LOULOU des Cèdres de la Montagne Noire, CGC) to the other side of the Rainbow Bridge: Romeo (Ch. Ecstasy Noir de la Maison du Garde-Barrière - Nov. 24, 2006), Einstein (Einstein Noir de la Maison du Garde-Barrière - Sep. 6, 2006), Raven (Escada Noire de la Maison du Garde-Barrière - May 12, 2009),  Whoopy (Excuse-Moi Whoopy de la Maison du Garde-Barrière - May 16, 2009) and Shadow (El Ninjo Noir de la Maison du Garde-Barrière - January 6, 2010). For all these dearly missed family members we have of course lit a candle and send our thoughts to them.

May 16, 2010:

Today Whoopy (EXCUSE-MOI WHOOPY de la Maison du Garde-Barière) is in our thoughts: it is one year that she went to the other side of the Rainbow Bridge. A candle has been lit ...... we still miss her very much.

May 4, 2010:

Another hard day: Today we had an appointment in our favorite vet clinic ...... it was time to pick up the urn with Oh-Lala's ashes after she had been cremated on April 16. She found her last resting place besides Yazoo and Zabou ...... in the room where also she loved to be very much ...... our bedroom.

April 14, 2010:

Change from happiness to grief goes way too fast: Today in the afternoon at 3:50 p.m. we had to open our arms and let our dear Oh-Lala (Sél. OH-LALA des Monts d'en Crauzille) go over the Rainbow Bridge ...... seems she had only waited till I am back home from the States.

No, it was not the aftermath of her tumor surgery last November, it was arthrosis. All of a sudden she started limping on one of her hind legs, but she did not respond to the pain killers, even not to the ones given i.v. With a most heavy heart we had to realize that she had given up herself and that the only way was to let her go. We still can't believe it as she had recovered so fast and great from the major surgery, was the funny and active girl we had always known, ...... There are no words to express our pain and grief ...... it is too hard, and it is the third darling leaving us within not even 11 months ...... We have not even worked out the pain concerning Whoopy's and Zabou's passing ...... and now? How can we get through so much pain?

Besides all that, she does not only leave a big hole in our hearts, but is also missed so much by our Chinese Crested puppies. They enjoyed playing with her each and every day since they started to walk, she was so very soft with these tiny critters, and with her they got to know that also huge dogs can be the best playmates for them.

Oh-Lala we will never ever forget you, you have your place in our hearts and we will try to get comfort by thinking of alll the wonderful moments you brought to this house, all the love, happiness and joy. Thank you that we could join you since you had turned two years of age ......

April 8, 2010:

It is 8 years ago that our G litter was born. For us it still seems it has been yesterday, we can clearly see these pups in front of our eyes, how they grew and how much fun we all had with them.

A very Happy Birthday to Gustl (Gus Gillespie), Lara (Gucci's Surprise), Aysha (G'Aysha Blonde), Bisou (Gros Bisou), Graffiti Snap and Lexi (Gaultier's Galaxie). Enjoy this day as much as you can, and we know that you all are spoiled very much by your humans. May you all bring joy and happiness for many more years to your families.

March 15, 2010:

We have lit a candle for Samson (UGO de la Morne Plaine) ...... it is five years that he left us to go to the other side of the Rainbow Bridge. He is still very much missed ......

Today it is 12 years ago that our C litter (UGO de la Morne Plaine x Sél. LOULOU des Cèdres de la Montagne Noire, CGC) was born. A special HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Celine. May you have some more years with Lyndaand your furry family members. For the other ones of this litter we send heartfelt thoughts to the other side of the Rainbow Bridge: Chivas Regal, Chaos, Clochard and Chloé. We have no information if Champagne is still alive, but of course also she is in our thoughts.

January 23, 2010:

Today we celebrate another birthday ...... a birthday which means very much for us: Oh-Lala (Sél. OH-LALA des Monts d'en Crauzille) is 12 years today. After all the nerve wracking time in October and November 2009, we are very happy that after the major tumor surgery in November 2009 this wonderful girl is as happy, funny and full of the joys of life as she always was.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY dear Oh-Lala. We are grateful that you own us, we are grateful for all the years with you, and we wish you many more healthy years with us.

January 13, 2010:

A candle has been lit for our very first Briard: Sándor (Rec. Champ. SÁNDOR von Anitzberg), the one who brought the Briard mania to this house, the one who was the reason for founding the kennel de la Maison du Garde-Barrière. It's the day of his death ...... we send loving thoughts to him to the other side of the Rainbow Bridge ...... to him and all our other darlings that join him.

January 10, 2010:

Today our Chinese Crested litter, the M litter of the kennel Caipirinha's was born. Simultaneously our L litter (Chinese Crested) celebrates its first birthday. All details in our Chinese Crested Homepage.

January 7 , 2010:

Last night we received very sad news from the USA: Only a few months after the loss of their beloved Raven (ELYSÉE NOIRE de la Maison du Garde-Barrière), Deb and Charlie had to walk a most stony lane yesterdy morning, to open their arms and let Raven's brother Shadow (EL NINJO NOIR de la Maison du Garde-Barrière) go over the Rainbow Bridge. Once again another wonderful Briard from this kennel had to leave his loving home much too early. A candle has been lit for Shadow ...... and his littermates, half-sibling, parents and friends.

This loss is as hard for us as it is for Deb and Charlie. We know their grief and pain too good, we feel what they feel: we still have not really come over the loss of Whoopy (EXCUSE-MOI WHOOPY de la Maison du Garde-Barrière - litter mate of Raven and Shadow) and Zabou (ALOAZABOU du Noble Nid) last year within only two months. And we still don't know how things will continue with our Oh-Lala (Sél. OH-LALA des Monts d'en Crauzille) after her major tumor surgery in November.

Deb and Charlie, please know that our thoughts are with you. And let us once more express that we are grateful that these two kids from here had a most wonderful home, a home that we would wish for all our offspring. Thanks that you decided to give Raven and Shadow a loving home, thanks that you made their lifes so very beautiful, thanks for the trust in this kennel, thanks for having taken the effort to meet Yazoo and myself at the Briard Specialty in 2000, to show me how wonderful the two kids had matured, and thanks for your friendship - even though we are so far apart.

If anyone has some words of comfort for Deb and Charlie, you can leave them in the Guestbook and we will forward them.
