There is not only a butterfly house in the park of castle Schoenbrunn/Vienna, as I could find out last week, but also one in downtown of Vienna, in the middle of the centre of all the beautiful attractions, which Vienna downtown offers.

Here are some photos of this butterfly house which Lynda and I visited on Oct. 7, 2006, at the occasion of her stay in my house.

The butterflies are flying around loose and even land on the visitors. Some nature even increase regularly, for other ones there are glass closets in which the different phases till a butterfly develops can be seen - everything real, no mock-up or showpiece. A great variety of tropical flowers and plants offer the butterflies food and there are even growing bananas, which at the time we were there were full of little green bananas.
